Articles : General Website How-To's
This article is intended to give people just getting started with content management systems (CMSs) a place to start in the development of a skin/theme for their site. The easiest place to start is to modify a pre-built skin/theme. So in this article we'll take a look at how with a few simple changes you can take an existing skin/theme and personalize it for your site. This article uses eFiction as an example, but the same concept can be applied to all CMS systems.
In this tutorial we'll walk through modifying a generic skin to customize it to your site. For this example, we'll use the HighDesert skin available for download here. You may wish to download that skin so you can follow along. This is an example of an eFiction skin, but the concept can be applied to any CMS skin/theme.
