Under the Television category, I've added the following shows:
- Warehouse 13
- V (2009)
- Caprica
As always, if there's a show, book, movie, etc. you'd like to see added to the site, give us a shout.
You may also notice that we have a new poll going.
Happy New Year everyone! I hope you had a good holiday season.
I've updated the site to the latest version of eFiction. This will fix a few bugs that people were experiencing. If you notice problems, let me know so I can get it fixed ASAP.
I've also updated the categories on the site. New categories:
Books > Animorphs
Television > NCIS: Los Angeles, Primeval, The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and Torchwood.
Movies > Transformers
Stories for these categories that were in the more general upper level categories have been moved. If there are other categories or characters you'd like to see added, leave a comment or use the contact form to let me know.
Finally, a couple reminders.
If there is a lower level category in which your story fits, it goes there NOT in the upper level category and NOT in the upper level category AND the lower level category.
Do not list every character in the story in your character list. List only the characters that the story focuses on. The same goes for genres. Don't list every possible option under the sun. Yes, it'll make your story show up in the listings more. It also makes those classifications nearly useless for our readers. If you abuse this too much, I will lock your account. It's the only way to be fair to those who are following the rules.
Last, but certainly not least, if your story is rated M or MA you are required to list warnings!
I've once again gone through and re-categorized stories that were misplaced. Do NOT put your stories in the top level categories if there's a lower level category in which they fit. In other words, if your story crosses over with Buffy: the Vampire Slayer, it goes in that category and not in Television. I appreciate the cooperation.
I've added the following categories under Television: Criminal Minds, Dexter, and NUMB3RS. I've updated characters in all categories where there's at least 4 stories. This includes Battlestar Galactica and NCIS.
If you know of any categories or characters that you would like to be added to the archive, reply here or use the contact form to send us an email.
I've added SG:A Season 5 and the two SG-1 movies, Ark of Truth and Continuum, to the spoilers list. Just a reminder, spoilers are required for the season currently airing in syndication (generally the season previous to the current Sci-Fi season) and all future seasons and/or productions.
This is also required of any other fandom in the archive!
For books or other non-serialized fandoms, spoilers are required for the first year after publication/release.
Yes, the site has gotten some updates and more are on the way. First, you'll notice the countdown is back. We're counting down to the release of The Ark of Truth. You'll also see a new Link to Us button on the site. Help us promote Wormhole Crossing by clicking on the link and promoting the site. We'll be adding an affiliate's page soon for a true link exchange. We've added a new skin to the site called Atlantis.
Finally, we've updated how co-authors work on the site. You should see some pages loading much faster. This change also affects how you select co-authors when adding/editing your stories. Please follow the instructions on the form. If you have problems with these changes, please let us know.
I've updated the site. Mostly this update was bug fixes and adding some security measures. Please either comment here or use the contact form if you notice any problems.
Update: Thanks to Sith Jesto for reporting the login issues. I've corrected the problem. A couple files didn't upload correctly. Again, if you notice any other problems let me know.
Authors,
The submission rules have been updated again. Please check them out. The specific changes deal with authors "padding" their submission information to force their stories to appear in more places. Do not select every genre that remotely fits your story. If you've got more than 4 genres selected, you're pushing it. Likewise, don't select every character that appears in the story. Please only select characters that are the focus of/featured in the story.
Please be kind to our readers by placing your stories in only the places where they belong.
I will once again be going through the story information and correcting genres, characters, warnings, etc as needed. Please fix your story before I have to.
Authors,
Please review the Submission Rules then make any corrections to your stories that are required. I spent several hours on Sunday working just on fixing summaries. Your summary should be a summary of the story and that is all!
- Do not include other information in your summary.
- Do not beg for reviews or for people to read your story.
- Do not list pairings, categories, spoilers, warnings, or genres. Put that information where it belongs!
- Do not put your author's notes/comments in the summary.
- Do not prepend the word "Summary." The site will take care of that for you.
- Do not put "WIP" or "Complete" in your summary either. Mark it in the form.
I've finally installed the recommendations feature to the website. If you know of a Stargate crossover archived off-site that you'd like to recommend to others, click on the "Add a Recommendation" link. You can rate and leave reviews for these recommendations and even mark them as favorites. (Although we obviously can't send you update notices)
I've also added a couple more skins to the site, and to highlight these new skins, I've set the default skin to one of these new ones. I'll probably turn it back to AFblue soon, but for now enjoy the new skin.
Yes, more news. This is the first of a couple new features. For site members who are logged in, you'll see a new option in the listing of stories and on the page that shows the story. This is a link to "Track this Story". This does not replace your favorites. To get updates about stories and authors, you still need to mark them as favorites.
The story tracker module will mark when you last read a story, and mark the story as "New!" if it's been updated since you read it last. When logged in you'll also be able to go to Your Tracked Stories and browse the stories you're tracking.
Try it out and let me know what you think!
