Submission Rules
  1. All stories must be a crossover with the Stargate universe (either Stargate: SG-1 or Stargate: Atlantis) and something(s) else. For the purposes of this archive, a Stargate: SG-1/Stargate: Atlantis story is NOT considered a crossover.
  2. All submissions must be accompanied by a complete disclaimer. If a suitable disclaimer is not included, the site administrators reserve the right to add a disclaimer. Repeat offenders may be subject to further action up to and including removal of stories and account.

    Sample Disclaimer
Disclaimer: The characters and settings of Stargate SG-1 and Stargate: Atlantis belong to Showtime/Viacom, MGM/UA, Double Secret Productions, and Gekko Film Corporation. All other publicly recognizable characters, settings, etc. are the property of their respective owners. The original characters and plot are the property of the author. The author is in no way associated with the owners, creators, or producers of Stargate: SG-1 and Stargate: Atlantis or any other media franchise. No copyright infringement is intended.
  3. Stories must be submitted to the proper (most specific) category. This means if your story is a crossover with Harry Potter, it belongs in the "Harry Potter" category, not "Books" and not in both "Books" and "Harry Potter." If the specific sub-category does not exist, place your story in the more general category. For example, since a "Dr. Seuss" sub-category doesn't appear in the "Books" category, a "Dr. Seuss" story would be placed in the "Books" category. The submission form allows you to choose multiple categories for your story, so please do NOT add your story multiple times!
  4. Titles and summaries must be kid friendly. No exceptions.
  5. "Please read", "Untitled", "Read it and see.", etc. are not acceptable titles or summaries.
  6. Correct grammar and spelling are expected of all stories submitted to this site. The site administrators are not grammar Nazis. However, we reserve the right to request corrections in submissions with a multitude of grammar and/or spelling errors. If such a request is ignored, the story will be deleted.
  7. Please be considerate of our readers by marking your story appropriately in the story form.  When you incorrectly submit your story it makes it harder for the readers to search the archive.
    • Your chapter text should contain only the chapter text.  If you feel you must include disclaimers, pairings, word counts, and other information at the beginning of each story, they belong in the chapter notes. Placing this information in the text of the chapter throws the word counts off and leads to erroneous results when readers are searching and sorting the stories in the archive.
    • Summaries should contain a summary of the story and nothing else. Please do not include your disclaimers, pairings, word count, crossover category, etc. in the summary. Each of these have their proper place in the story submission form.  Disclaimers should be included in the "Story Notes" section.
    • Do not "pad" your story listing by selecting categories, warnings, genres, and characters that do not reflect your story.  Please select only characters that are the focus of/featured in your story and not every character that appears.
    • The script will label summaries as summary and author's notes as author's notes. So please let it.
  8. A number of authors have requested that fans refrain from writing fan fiction based on their work. Therefore submissions will not be accepted based on the works of P.N. Elrod, Raymond Feist, Terry Goodkind, Laurell K. Hamilton, Anne McCaffrey, Robin McKinley, Irene Radford, Anne Rice, Mercedes Lackey and Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb.
  9. This is a Stargate Archive not a Richard Dean Anderson, Amanda Tapping, Christopher Judge, Michael Shanks, etc. archive. In other words, actor/actress stories are not permitted...not even when the team visits an alternate reality.  This rule extends to all real people.
  10. All stories must be rated correctly and have the appropriate warnings. All M and MA stories are expected to have warnings. If your story contains sexual references, it must be rated T or above. After all, they wouldn't have that rating if there wasn't something to be warned about! The site administrators recognize that there is an audience for these stories, but please respect those who do not wish to read them by labeling them appropriately. Please note: Stories containing adults having sex with minors are strictly forbidden.
  11. Stories with multiple chapters should be archived as such and NEVER as separate stories. If you don't understand how to do this after reading the submission instructions, please contact the site administrator or ask a friend to help you.
  12. As much as possible, spoiler warnings are expected on all stories. For categories with serialized content, such as series of books or television series, spoilers are mandatory for the current season and/or most recent part. In the case of Stargate: SG-1 the current season is to be considered the season currently airing in syndication. An appropriate spoiler warning to place in your summary would be: Spoilers for Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. DO NOT do anything like this: Spoilers for the one where Spock dies.
  13. You have the ability to upload images through your account. These images are for your bio in your profile and illustrations for your stories. Images uploaded to this site are to be used on this site, and this site only. Please don't steal my bandwith. If you're found to be violating my trust in this, I can and will remove your ability to upload images.

Submissions found to be in violation of these rules may be removed and the author's account suspended at the discretion of the site administrators and/or moderators. The site administrators reserve the right to modify these rules as needed.
